1. Introduction

Feynly is an AI-assisted study application for Android. This Policy applies to personal information processed in connection with the Service worldwide. By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

Account and profile information. Email address, authentication credentials or identifiers, and account preferences you set in the app (such as study preferences and language).
Study materials and user content. Notes, documents, images, PDFs, and other materials you upload or enter; extracted text; generated study tools (such as flashcards, quizzes, cloze items, mind maps, and related metadata); and communications you send in teach-back or similar features.
Support communications. Messages you send to us, including account or deletion requests.
Subscription and transaction information. Purchase and subscription status associated with your account. Payment card details are processed by the app marketplace; we do not store full payment card numbers.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Device and application information. Device type, operating system, app version, and similar technical data needed to operate and secure the Service.
Usage, diagnostics, and analytics. Feature usage, interaction events, performance metrics, crash reports, and—when analytics are enabled—session recordings used to understand product experience. Collection of optional analytics and crash diagnostics is subject to the choices described in Analytics and Communications.
Notification identifiers. Device push tokens if you enable study reminders or other push notifications.
Website information. If you visit feynly.app, we may collect standard server logs and, if enabled in the future, cookies or similar technologies as described in Website Information.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
Authenticate users and protect accounts;
Process uploads, extract text, and generate study materials you request;
Personalize study experiences and preferences;
Administer subscriptions, access rights, quotas, and restore purchases;
Provide customer support and respond to requests;
Send notifications you request or that are necessary to operate your account;
Diagnose failures and improve reliability;
Analyze product usage where permitted by your choices and applicable law;
Prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
Comply with legal obligations; and
Enforce our Terms of Service and End User License Agreement.

4. Artificial Intelligence Processing

Certain features transmit user-submitted content to third-party artificial-intelligence processing providers to produce the outputs you request. Depending on the feature, this may include text, images, documents, or short audio recordings used for transcription. We transmit only the data reasonably necessary to perform the requested feature.

Feynly does not operate its own foundation models. Generated results may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for high-stakes reliance. You should review outputs against your source materials and instructors. Feynly does not sell your study content.

Third-party AI providers process content under their own terms and policies. Those terms may permit uses that differ from Feynly’s practices. We do not control independent provider practices beyond our contractual and technical arrangements with them.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information to vetted service providers that support the Service, including providers of:

Cloud hosting, storage, and infrastructure;
Authentication and account management;
Artificial-intelligence and content processing;
Subscription, payment, and app-marketplace services;
Analytics, product improvement, and diagnostics;
Notifications and communications; and
Professional advisers where reasonably necessary.

These providers may process personal information only as needed to perform services for us and subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to resolve disputes, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

For Android purchases, billing is processed through Google Play. Subscription status and related transaction records may be processed by our subscription-management and marketplace providers.

6. Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

Where applicable privacy laws require a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract (to provide the Service); legitimate interests (such as securing the Service, preventing abuse, and improving reliability, balanced against your rights); consent (for example, optional analytics in regions that require it, or push notifications where consent is required); and legal obligation.

Core account, content-processing, and subscription functions are generally necessary to provide the Service and are not described as optional consent-based processing.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Account and study data. Retained while your account remains active, unless you delete them sooner where the product allows.
Original uploads. By default, original uploaded files are deleted after text extraction. If you enable optional retention of originals as a paid feature, those files are kept until you disable the feature or delete your account.
Temporary audio. Short audio used for speech transcription is processed to produce text and is not retained by Feynly as a stored recording.
Analytics and diagnostics. Retained according to our operational needs and the retention settings of our analytics and diagnostics providers.
Subscription and security records. Limited records may be retained as needed for billing disputes, fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance, including after account deletion where permitted or required by law.
Backups. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period until those backups are rotated in the ordinary course of operations.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.

9. International Data Processing

We and our service providers may process personal information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are 13 or older but under the age required in your jurisdiction to consent to data processing without parental permission, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian as required by local law.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided information may contact us at the address below.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact support@feynly.app. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some study materials can be exported from within the app where that feature is available; for broader personal-data requests, email us.

Deletion requests are handled within 30 days as described insection 12 (Account and Data Deletion).

12. Account and Data Deletion

You may delete your account and associated data:

In the app: Settings > Privacy & data > Delete my account.
On the web (no install required): visit our account deletion page.

Web requests should be sent from the email address associated with your Feynly account so we can verify ownership. After verification, we delete your account profile, study materials, generated content, notification identifiers, and any retained original uploads. We will process a verified deletion request and delete the associated personal information within 30 days of receiving it. Some information may persist for a short additional period in routine encrypted backups, which are overwritten on a rolling basis, and in records we are required to keep by law.

Deleting your Feynly account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play.

13. Analytics and Communications Choices

Optional product analytics (including session recordings) and crash diagnostics may be used to improve reliability and the product experience.

In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, these optional tools are initialized only after you grant consent on first use (or later in Settings).
Outside those regions, analytics and crash diagnostics may run by default. You can turn them off at any time in Settings > Privacy & data.

You can control push notifications in your device settings and in the app where toggles are provided. Transactional or account-related messages necessary to operate the Service may still be delivered while your account remains open.

14. Website Information

Our website at feynly.app is primarily informational. We may use essential technologies required to deliver pages securely. If we introduce analytics, advertising, or non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, provide appropriate notice or consent controls.

15. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for those practices.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised Policy will be posted at this URL. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the Service or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after the effective posting of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy to the extent permitted by law.
